The internet has become part of our daily activities. Whether you just want to surf the net for fun, play games, Research, work, trading, shopping, meeting other people etc.. We are now depending on the Internet to do most of our activities. The Internet is absolutely a faster way to get things done.

It is very costly today to get online while The Consumers are looking for better, faster and more reliable Internet access.  Most importantly a Nationwide High Speed Internet that is Mobile. I said “Mobile“.  Not Hotspots or WiMax.  They don’t have the time to chase spots to get connected Online.  They want to be Online and stay Online without any interception.  Well it is finally here and they are currently finalizing their Final Test.  A Wifi Corp is Planning to roll out their new Nationwide Wireless Internet Service hopefully by the end of 2008.

A Nationwide High Speed Internet at a T1 and or T3 access speed both upload and download.  T1 up and down or T3 up and down with more exciting news the retail price is anticipated to be $19.95 a month Unlimited time of usage with no Contract, no equipment to purchase or lease and no fees to the Consumers.  If you ever had to stay home from work to meet with a Technician to show up to your home.  In some cases two people have to miss work for one visit where some of Us do not like the idea of being alone with a stranger in our homes. There will never be a time again to give a stranger accesss to your home once you go Wireless.  The Wi-Fi Company will also offer a landline phone First Class “IP Telephony” with the Wifi Internet for an additional $9.95 a month.

A Nationwide Ultra High Speed Internet with an upload and download speed of a T1 and or T3 with a First Class IP Telephony for less than thirty bucks a month. Will there be a need for cell phones?  A question in millions of people’s mind.  With today’s Technology where there are many Apps program online you can use free of charge to make your phone call once you are already Online.

What happens when my laptop is plugged into my DSL router and connected wirelessly to my router at the same time? Which one is it actually using?

What if i connect to my neighbors cable wifi while plugged into my dsl? Will one take over? Can i download a file drawing bandwith from both?

The wired connection typically takes priority.

If you want to use both, you would need to modify your PC's routing table. The only way I know to do that is by running the command line interface (cmd.exe) and using the route command:
route print
route add
route delete

Caution!! Modifying your PC's routing table — it will not go away after a reboot - so make sure you know what to undo after you attempt to change it!!

INTERNET CONNECTION - Can I use a Cell phone connected to my notebook in order to get a high speed connection?

Well, I was wondering about connecting to the internet without using a Wi-Fi network. Can I connect a cell phone to my notebook and get a high speed internet connection? How is that? Could I use it while in motion, for instance within my moving car? Thanks in advance.

Internet connectuivity through mobile phones can be done in three ways.
1. Connect your phone to ur computer via cable or bluetooth or IR and use your GSM GPRS connection. This is not that fast but its still ok. Bad for downloading files.

2. Use your phones EDGE or HSPCD connection for high speed data browsing and download. The speed can be about 1.2 Mbps to 3.0 Mbps but this is supported if your phone is 3G (i.e. Has a front camera) and your network is 3G compliant. The connection is the same as the 1st one. But use Bluetooth or Cable since IR is slow.

3. Buy a HSPCD or EDGE PC card and connect directly to your PC. Just insert the sim and begin surfing the net high speed. This is very stable. Go to your local cellular operator and inquire about this. If they have 3G the chances are they have this hardware.

In either case movement wont affect connection unless of course you are going to a place that your network hasn't covered. To connect your Phone to PC you need manufacturer Driver files, you can get these at the manufactures website

How can I share my high speed internet connection?

I have a laptop with high speed wireless internet connection. I live out in the country and that is the only option available for high speed connections. How can I share that high speed connection with my desk top computer? According to BestBuy Geek Squad, a standard wireless network will not work. Was the Geek wrong? Has anyone done this type of sharing?

Connect your laptop and your desktop by ethernet… your choice is a crossover ethernet cable between the two machines or a pair of straight through cables and a hub or switch or router connecting the two cables together (hub probably obsolete as switches are so cheap).

Then set up Internet Connection Sharing between the two machines… the Windows Help on ICS is unusually good and fully explains how you set it all up. You use the laptop as the macine which is sharing its internet connection…

Downsides… when you take your laptop away, your desktop stops being able to surf.

Oh, if you were so minded you could set up a wifi network between your two machines instead of a wired one… make it an ad-hoc network or make the laptop act as base station otherwise you'll be buying lots more kit. But a crossover wire is cheapest by a long way… and can run to 100m length if you need… if both machines already have a network card suitable for Ethernet.

How can I stop BT broadband from turning on automatically when I want to work off-line.?

Broadband is set to come on when I turn computer on, that's fine. BUT when I want to work off-line and select the 'yes' option it turns itself back on again after a few seconds. This is important as we still have a limited time package.
Is there any way that I can prevent this happening? 'Idiots Guide' please!

Is the Connection icon in the task bar? Do a right hand click on it and click disable.

If it's not there > Start > Settings > Network Connections > Highlight your Connection > File > Properties > On the first page tick the "Show the icon in the task bar".

A tip on what I have done is, when your in Network Connections is do a right hand click on the icon and click create shortcut. It will tell you it can only put it on the desktop. Do this twice to put two icons on the desk top.

Now go into Explore > Desktop > and drag one of the icons onto the Start Menu. Come out and the effect is you have one connection on the desk top and the other on the start menu. You can rename them both what you like.

So now if you have nothing on the desk top you can activate or deactivate the connection, or if your working on something you can do the same thing using the one on the start menu.

Sounds complicated but will take about three minutes to do, but like most things takes longer to explain than actually to do it!

Any problems email me

Is it possible to have broadband without an active landline?

My BT bills are enormous (my own fault, I use the phone a lot) and I've been wondering whether to do without the landline altogether. I e-mail a lot, and could use my mobile for emergencies.

Would I still be able to have broadband?

There are two types of broadband in the UK:

Cable and ADSL

ADSL uses the normal phone line. In the UK, if you get ADSL broadband you are forced to rent the phone line from BT, even if your broadband provider is not BT.

Cable broadband uses the TV cable, which is physically separate to the phone line. So you can get cable broadband without renting a BT line.

Many households can't be connected to cable though. It depends where you live. Check with your local cable provider if it's possible for you.

As for high bills, why don't you use skype instead of BT? I make an average of one hour of international phonecalls a day (long distance relatinship) and my phone bill is just £15 / month.
