Nasa – Crash Landing on the Moon – As seen on TV

NOTE* This is not my movie. This was merely for you’re entertainement.

A NASA spacecraft smashed into the moon at twice the speed of a bullet as part of a mission aimed at blasting up signs of water ice.
Picturs of the impact were being beamed back live to Earth.
“It’s showtime!” said Michael Bicay, director of science at NASA’s Ames Research Center in California.
The first and much bigger crash is set for 7:31 a.m. ET. Thats when an empty rocket that weighs 2.2 tons should hit the crater Cabeus and create a minicrater about 66 feet (20 meters) wide. That’s half the length of an Olympic pool. The blast should kick up a plume of lunar debris about six miles (10 kilometers) high.
The idea is to confirm the theory that water — a key resource if people are going to go back to the moon — is hidden below the barren moonscape.
Trailing behind the rocket is the lunar probe LCROSS, short for Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite and pronounced L-Cross. The LCROSS shepherding spacecraft will send Earth live pictures of the impact and the debris plume using color cameras. It will scour for ice and fly through the debris cloud.
Just four minutes after the rocket stage hits the moon, the LCROSS spacecraft will complete its own fatal plunge, triggering a dust storm one-third the size of the first hit.
Telescopes around the world — including the orbiting Hubble Space Telescope — will aim their cameras at the big event to provide more views of the dust-up.
LCROSS and its bigger rocket stage launched together last June and only separated Thursday night, the last major milestone before the big crash.
The lunar demolition derby is being broadcast live on NASA television. Museums and observatories planned early-morning events to show the crashes, which can be seen with backyard telescopes in the predawn darkness west of the Mississippi River. But the best place to watch the lunar action will be on the Internet, scientists said.
Its going to be a muted shimmer of light, said Anthony Colaprete, an LCROSS scientist.
The LCROSS probe cost $79 million and was an add-on to a bigger NASA satellite now circling the moon.

Do you need a working phone line for high speed internet?

I have my high speed internet bundled through my phone service right now. We all have cell phones in my household, so we really don’t see a need to have a land line now. Do you really need to have a working phone in order to have high speed internet or is that a necessity?

Some telcos will provide an unladen pair (no dial tone) for DSL service. In most cases though you will pay a higher monthly fee for the DSL service than the bundled pricing that you’re paying now. Not all telcos offer this service though, so you’ll have to call and ask.

Of course, if you have cable TV you may be able to get internet service from the cable TV system. Cable Internet is generally faster than DSL though the cost is usually a bit higher. Most cable providers will offer a discount if you sign up for multiple items.

Is wireless faster than high speed internet?

I have wireless at home but I am staying in a hotel with high speed internet that requires an ethernet cable instead. I find it slower.

Yes and no. You’re internet is faster because you probably have a better plan (faster download speed) and your router transmits almost the whole signal percentage. Some of the reasons why the hotels internet is slow may be:

1 They have a internet plan with a slow download speed.

2 They have old wiring (aluminum) yes even a dwelling’s wiring can influence that).

3 There maybe bandwidth capping.

4 If it is cable internet you’re sharing the bandwidth with everyone else that is connected.

Is high speed internet needed for xbox live?

Right now I have high speed lite and am planning to get xbox live but I am wondering if I need high speed internet for it. If I stick with high speed lite, will it be really slow? or how slow?

You should be okay. Decent high-speed is a must or else you’ll have to get on at like 3 in the morning so there is no lag.
