I recommend getting rid of verizon! I canceled my verizon phone service a month ago because they were constantly messing up my phone bills. They were always trying to sneak in new charges.They were adding new charges every month and sometimes they would send me 3-4 bills. I had to call them every month, waste my lunch-break, just to get them fix their mistakes. They would always apologize, but the same thing happened every month. Finally, I decided to cancel them and get service else where. Well, I paid my final bill. Some how I managed to over pay it and they sent me a check for the over paid balance. The funny thing is that the very same day that I got a check in the mail, I got a letter from an attorney that was representing verizon, and it said that I owed verizon $21.00 I couldn't believe it. I got a check and a threat from verizon on the same day. I have had service with them for years, and I always paid my bills when due. If anyone has verizon, you should watch your bills closely

make sure that all of your phones have a filter on them. If your filters have one jack for dsl and one jack for phone, make sure that the jack that your Dsl is plugged into the dsl jack.

Seeing that you are ADSL broadband there is not a lot you can do about it.

It all boils down to how far you are away from the exchange, condition of the telephone cables and exchanges and how updated they are, how heavily your exchange is subscribed to, and how many are on the system at any one time.

That’s why they say they CANNOT guarantee any speed up to 8 Mb. Even BT cannot change the basic laws of physics!

That’s why fibre optic cable is far superior and ADSL can’t hold a candle to it! BT’s system is about as dim as a Toc H lamp!

I’m on 10Mb cable and I get what I pay for, 9980 Kbps 24/7/365

Gigagremlins. They are everywhere and cause inexplicable problems. Honestly, sometimes phone plugs closest to the main entry point seem to be more reliable.

Built in wi fi, means that the ipod touch can connect to wireless hot spots such as coffee shops or to wireless routers that some cable and DSL companies provide. If you don’t have a wireless router at home you most likely won’t be able to "use the internet" with it.

That is not to say you won’t "discover" a wireless connection that you might be able to use. However I wouldn’t count on it always being there.
I’ve tried using wi fi connections (not from my wireless router) but I have found them to be very unreliable – there sometimes and missing at other times.

So if you already have internet access via cable or DSL, get yourself a wi fi router – they are pretty cheap and you won’t have to worry.

Two responders got it right. You need the splitter installed on every phone in the house. This device is a filter that prevents the digital DSL and analog voice phone signals from interfering with each other.

You should have received 3-5 of these with your DSL modem. Make sure one is installed on EVERY phone in the house.

they should've installed a device called splitter . If they didnt't that's why you are getting that problem.
